Makeup bag can be considered as girls’ bestfriend. It is a staple item in every woman’s purse. It doesn’t matter if you are a makeup lover or a lipbalm-is-enough kind of girl, you would still have that purse, inside your purse containing all your hygiene or makeup essentials. I remember when I was still in my college years in the Philippines, my girls would know whom to look for or let just say, they know where to look for if they need a splash of eyeshadow, or want that tint on their cheeks. Yup, that me and my bag! Some of you might say, why I share my makeup with others, or isn’t it too unhygienic. Well, those days were my fun days and hygiene is the last thing that I would think of when me and my girls were chillin’ like that back then. How I miss my college days!
Back to the topic.. From then on, I would always see to it that I have my makeup bag with me wherever I go. Its a must and its a need! At least for me.
I would like to share with you guys some of the things that can be found inside my precious makeup bag. I am a makeup lover don’t be surprised if you’ll see more makeup in here than hygiene stuff. You might find some ideas from this list on what you can add inside your makeup purse so why not stick with me and read away.
I am wearing NC25 for my Studio Fix Powder Foundation. I’m more of a liquid foundation user. I would only use this foundation for quick fix-ups and to cover up oiliness. I tried other drugstore powders but they just won’t work for me. The ones that I’ve used are the Revlon PhotoReady Powder and the Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder. After one day of use, baby bumps would start growing on my face. I would break out at once! It is also the reason why I prefer liquid foundation over powder ones. But not with the MAC Studio Fix Powder, this is the only exemption of all. I love that it’s light weight and it really tames the oiliness of my face. Its effects are amazing and I always use this to do touch-ups in the middle of the day, the time where my oil glands decide to act up and produce tons of oil on my face!
I got this as a Beauty Insider birthday gift this year. I love how this shade is so subtle so you can control how strong you want it to be by applying it by layers. I can’t say that it actually stays on for 12 hours but compared other blushes that I’ve tried, it stays on longer. Eversince I got this, it has been in my makeup bag. Its size is perfect for my bag and it is really handy for those night-out touch ups that I would need.
Hoola Bronzer! Everybody’s favourite bronzer (or mostly)! Proud to say that I am among those who is in love with this gem. I never thought that I would be needing a bronzer for I assumed that is is only for faces with fair complexion so they would have that sunkissed glow. But when I got introduced to the concept of contouring, I came to love this and it became a part of my makeup routine. I have this teeny tiny version of the Hoola Bronzer which I got from a benefit gift set from Sephora. I mainly use the mini bronzer in my makeup bag for nose line fix and for my eyelid crease touch ups as well.
Out of all the items in my makeup bag, this is the most senior of them all! I’ve had this curler since year 2008 and its still looks like I just bought it yesterday! This curler has been with me throughout my makeup addiction journey and I would never exchange this for any other curler out there. It is comparable to the most popular brands like the Shu Uemura eye lash curler. I use this to open up my eye look especially for those #teamnosleep days. Its surely makes a huge difference to how eyes looks and who doesn’t like the look of perfectly curled lashes?
I have in here three of my favourite fall lipsticks, the Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Wine and Forever, MAC Rebel, and Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks by Elizabeth Arden in Ultra Violet. Depending on the season, I usually change these selection. Fall for me is the perfect time and weather for wearing lipsticks. It gives you the much needed colour during the gloomy weather. My granny would always tell me before that you can leave anything from your kit but never leave your lipstick. Those words stayed with me even up to this date. If she could see me from heaven, for sure she’s a proud grandmama! =) I miss her so much!
Maybelline Baby Lips is my favourite lipbalm. I love it to the point that I have a collection of these babies. It is very moisturizing and it keeps my lips hydrated and moisturized for almost a day that I don’t really have to touch up too much except after meals. If you live in a country that has extreme temperatures, this is an essential item that you should always have. My favourite-st is the Baby Lips Dr. Rescue which is the one in white. Perfect for chappy lips!
I don’t always buy Sephora brand products just because whenever I enter the store, I would always be swayed to go to my favourite brands like Benefit, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, etc. but once I used up my MAC brow liner in Stud, the next choice for me would be the Sephora Retractable Brow Pencil . I like its very slim tips that it helps me do a more precised and defined application. I have this in my kit always for touch-up purposes and for some instances where I need to have more dramatic brows.
These cuties are one of the things that anyone should always have in their kits. Hands are one of the dirtiest parts of our body and we use it to do so many things like eating, connecting to people through handshakes, holding hands, etc. which could be ways of spreading dirt and diseases so for me, I always have this as a way of preventing myself to get sick. If you’ve read my fall essentials post, I mentioned there how easily I can get colds since I was still a kid and I seriously hate being sick (who doesn’t though?). Plus, these are really cute and bath and body works would always have new scents and fragrance for these minis each season.
Hair Pins and Ties
And last but not the least, hair pins and hair ties for obvious reasons. This is a saviour for those bad hair days or if I just feel like changing my hairstyle while being out and away from my dresser.
And before I finish this post, of course I need to present to you my precious!
This is THE makeup bag. I got this from the MAC Warehouse sale in Markham, Ontario that happens every 3 months. This Michael Kors makeup bag is a collaboration with Estee Lauder. It comes with Michael Kors X Estee Lauder Blush Trio, and Estee Lauder minis (eyeliner, mascara, nail polish, lip gloss) and a full-sized lipstick. The size of this bag is just right and it fits all my makeup essentials perfectly.
How about you guys? What’s inside your makeup bag? Which of these would you include in yours? Let me know in the comments section. You could also share your makeup bag with me or if you have the same post, let me know so I can visit and read your post. I am not sure but spying or knowing what in other people’s bag is quite addicting! Do you agree? Hope you do!
